The Wichita County Commissioners Court, the Museum of North Texas History, and the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture invite you to attend the opening and dedication of the Wichita County Courthouse Third Floor Gallery.The inaugural display will feature the Janet Campbell Watercolor Collection, a group of sixteen works commissioned around 1986 by City National Bank. The paintings depict historic scenes and landmarks from Wichita County.
The June 11 opening will be the only opportunity to view all sixteen original works together in one display. Following the opening, selected works from the collection will remain on public display in the courthouse gallery on a rotating basis.
The evening will include remarks on local history, historic preservation, and the role of public art in telling the story of Wichita County.
Refreshments will be served. Donations are encouraged and will support future courthouse art installations and public history initiatives.
The Janet Campbell Watercolor Collection is on loan from the Museum of North Texas History.
