Join KC IABC for our 2025 Professional Development chat: Think Fast, Communicate Smarter - How Improv Transforms Workplace Communication. We speak with the hilarious Marian McClellan, Founder of Improv SpringBoard. Marian is a Chemical Engineer with 40 years of corporate experience in the United States and Europe. After a professional setback 3 years ago, she turned to improv as a way to improve her communication skills. In spite of no performance background, she was successful at using her new improv skills to get her engineering career back on track. Along the way, she established Improv SpringBoard, which is Kansas City’s only improv production company that serves exclusively women and nonbinary folks by offering workshops and performance experiences.
