This contemporary classic stars Daniel Day Lewis (in his second Academy Award-winning role) as Daniel Plainview, a silver miner turned ‘oil man’ who unrelentingly seeks drillable land with the help of an orphan, played by Dillon Freasier (in his first and only screen appearance), who believes he is his son.
