There Has Always Been A Creek Here | Loree Harrell; First Friday at TAC

Artist Statement
There is a trail through a beautiful forest on a mountain. There is a fork in the trail where one path follows through forest down to a lovely small year-round creek backed with tall forest on the hill behind, and continues on the other side another same distance until it tails out looking down on an expanse of unbroken forest.
One day in early spring, all was as it had always been for me. Two days later, the tall forest on the hill behind was gone, along with all the equipment that took it away.
In May, the creek was at end of September levels.
In September, it is not a creek this year.
But it is the foundation of a creek.
This trail has my heart now as it always has, and this is a love story of continuing joy and strength and hope, not one of anger or grief.
