Top Dog is proud to be offering the Therapy Dog Preparation School at our new location at the Westmoreland Mall!! To join this school you must Attend a Therapy Team Seminar part 1 & 2 and receive an invite from a Top Dog Therapy Trainer.
This School will be 5 weeks long and will work on the following:
1. Explaining the job of a therapy dog and the facilities that they work.
2. Grooming and appearance
3. Therapy Dog Vest/Gear
4. Accepting a strangers touch
5. Working in close quarters with other dogs without reactions
6. Supervised Separation
7. Medical Device Exposure-idol & moving
8. Loud noise exposure
9. Leave it with hazardous/dangerous items
10. Entering/exiting a room properly
11. Facility Group Registration & Sign in
12. Therpay Dog shows
This school will give your pup all the basics they need to move on to the next level to our Therapy Dog Program so they can begin to apply all this training at schools and medical facilities when they reopen to us.
This course is five week long and one hour in duration. This course is $175 per pup for the 5 weeks. This is the 1st phase of therapy dog training that your dog will go through.
Prerequisites for Therapy Dog preparation score;
1. Advance Level one certification
2. Temperament Test
3. Attend Therapy Dog Seminar
4. Invite from Top Dog Trainer
Classes are non refundable and not to be gifted or used for other classes.
We are located inside of the Westmoreland mall on the second floor on the Casino side.
Our space number is 276. We are directly next to the armed force center.
If you find a way to the elevator, come upstairs go straight you will find us or if you’re on the first level head towards the casino there are steps on the right hand side that will bring you right up to us.
Please do not forget to bring POOP bags in case your dog has an emergency to or from our store.
We ask everybody to please make sure their dogs are fully bathroom or leave before coming into the mall.
Parking:
No matter where you park at in the mall, it is pretty easy to find us from upstairs to downstairs from the food court to the other main entrances find your way to the center of the mall where the elevator is and head down towards the casino
Please note : if you need funding to help for this course for financial hardship reasons, we do have a grant application you can fill out to request through the Willow fund. This is not a guaranteed approval but an application process. This application could be mailed out upon request.
