About this Event

This taster offers an opportunity to experience deep rest through a blend of Restorative Yoga and yoga nidra.

The practice is designed to help you slow down, settle your nervous system and create space for rest in your body, breath and mind. Through somatic regulation practices, comfortable supported postures and guided relaxation, we'll gently explore what it feels like to turn inward, consciously letting go of the pace and pressures of the outside world, and move towards a greater sense of ease and peace.

Our Advanced Restorative Yoga Practitioner, Fran, will guide the class through practices involving covering the eyes and lying down in supported positions for extended periods of time, in quiet stillness.

No previous yoga experience is needed, and the session is suitable for complete beginners. All equipment will be provided, although we recommend wearing comfortable clothing, bringing a few layers and wearing cosy socks. You're also welcome to bring a favourite blanket, along with an item from home with a scent that you find calming.

After the practice, you're warmly invited to stay for coffee and cake, meet others and find out more about our new yoga community.

This free taster session is an opportunity to experience our new fortnightly Therapeutic Deep Rest classes before they begin on Saturday 19th of September 2026. Ongoing classes can be booked through a range of flexible, sliding scale pricing options.

NOTE

Please kindly read before completing your booking:

Classes may include guided relaxation, visualisation and periods of quiet inward attention. While many people find these practices deeply restorative, they are not suitable for everyone. It is important to us that everyone who comes to our studio feels safe, supported and able to engage with the practice in a way that is right for them.

If you are currently experiencing severe anxiety or panic, frequent distressing flashbacks, or have a current or previous history of psychosis or experiences such as hearing voices or unusual beliefs, please get in touch before booking. For some people with these experiences, visualisation and inwardly focused practices can be unhelpful or increase distress. This does not necessarily mean these practices are unsuitable for you, but it does mean it is important to consider your individual circumstances. If you're unsure, our Yoga Therapy Manager would be very happy to discuss things further and can be contacted by email at [email protected]. In some cases, we may recommend beginning with one-to-one sessions, where practices can be individually adapted and introduced at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

It is the responsibility of each participant to inform the teacher of any health conditions, recent surgery, injuries or other circumstances that may affect their ability to take part safely in the practice of yoga. By taking part, you acknowledge that you are participating voluntarily and are responsible for working within your own limits. Please listen to your body throughout and stop or modify any practice that does not feel appropriate for you.
