Br. Joe Trout, OP, is a Dominican friar of the Central Province. He first encountered the Dominicans while studying math education at Purdue University. He entered the Order in 2010 and professed solemn vows as a cooperator (lay) brother in 2015. After eight years teaching theology at Fenwick High School, he now serves in Chicago as Socius to the Provincial. He was as a member of the Dominican Order’s international theological commission on the vocation of the cooperator brother and is a regular preacher on A Word of Hope (opcentral.org/hope).
