About this Event
Join us for a live recording of the podcast Don't Call Me Resilient from The Conversation Canada.
With Annette Henry and Michelle Stack, two education professors at the Univesity of British Columbia (UBC). In conversation with journalist and host Vinita Srivastava.
Annette Henry’s work examines race, class, language, gender and culture in education for Black students and educators in Canada.
Michelle Stack’s work looks at equity in higher learning institutions. She is a former policy advisor on education.
We’ll dive deep into a discussion about the role of our public universities, at a time when academic freedom and dissent is under attack around the world.
The event will take place in the Dodson Room of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre and light snacks and refreshments will also be provided!
And if you can’t join us in person, an edited version of our conversation will be published on our Don't Call Me Resilient podcast feed in late March.
