About this Event
To New York journalists, Adam Moss (award-winning former editor of New York and The New York Times Magazine) is known as the “Editor of his Generation.” When he retired from journalism in 2019, he turned to painting — but found himself frustrated by the struggle known as “the creative process”. To better understand the difficult steps which may lie between a dashed-off sketch and a finished canvas, Moss began to do in-depth interviews about talent, persistence, and inspiration with creatives of all kinds—from Stephen Sondheim to Roz Chast, from filmmaker Sofia Coppola to chef Samin Nosrat. These extraordinary conversations form the basis for Moss’ bestselling book The Work of Art, presented here in multimedia form, followed by an author interview.
