The WORDfest Comedy Night!

Following the huge success of our Comedy Night over the past few years in Revive Cafe at The Charis Centre we are delighted to work again with Rangatainment to present an evening of laughter and fun!

WITH RUSSELL HICKS, STEPHEN GRANT, ANDY FOX & CARLY SMALLMAN HOSTING!

Headlined by American comic ! Russell is one of the UK’s most razor-sharp and exciting comic talents.
In 2025 he appeared in major feature films The Running Man (dir. Edgar Wright) and Maintenance Required (Amazon MGM).

An American based in London, he is a provocative and exuberant comedian known for his masterful improvisation, and has appeared on Channel 4, BBC and ITV. Fresh from winning the Prague Fringe Festival 2024, Russell is on tour across the UK.
His masterful weaving of improvisation with material has earned him a devoted following, with hundreds of thousands of followers across social media.

He headlines at all the top clubs across the UK and also compères major events like the Leeds and Reading Festivals, as well as curated indie venues, historic theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo, and private members clubs across Europe.

For his undeniable and prolific work in live performance, Russell was endorsed as a Global Talent by Arts Council England in 2022.
Russell starred in the Prime Video series Lovestruck High, which was narrated by Lindsay Lohan, as the loveable Texan Coach Hughes. He’s written for and starred in ITV’s Stand Up Sketch Show and won the Channel 4 competition series Captive Audience with his fully improvised stand-up.

He still can’t believe he gets to make people laugh for a living, travel the world, and most importantly, not wake up early on Monday mornings.

Opening the show is Brighton comedian ! Stephen is a multi-award winning MC and the most experienced late show compere in the UK due to his 23 year residency at the Krater Comedy Club. He performs at clubs and corporate events all over the UK and on the international circuit and has taken six critically acclaimed shows to the Edinburgh Fringe since 2003.

A repeat award winner of Best UK Compere, Stephen Grant is one of the hardest working comedy performers and writers in the UK. He was the host of the Krater Comedy Club at Komedia between 1999 and 2022, which won Best Comedy Venue in the South for an unprecedented amount of times.

As a performer, Stephen is a regular headliner at The Comedy Store in Leicester Square. He possesses an energy and intellect which combined with his eight years in the corporate world make for a perfect experienced host and entertainer for any event. Clients often return to Stephen for repeat engagements due to his ability to vary his content and material, often tailoring it specific to the client’s requirements and industry.

As a writer, Stephen has written on TV shows from Mock the Week to Live at the Electric as well as for Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show and Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week.

Seating will be in groups of 4 - 6 or more around a table in a cafe style. We may be able to accomodate separate tables of 2 and 3, but please be aware we may have to sit you with another couple, as space may be restricted. If you wish to sit as a group then please book as a group to make the organisation much easier.

Doors open at 7.30pm with the comedy starting at 8pm.There will be a fully licensed bar serving a selection of wine, lager, beer, cider, prosecco and soft drinks.

Parking - there is parking at the rear of The Charis Centre. Entrance is up a driveway off Town Barn Road, RH11 7EB signed The Charis Centre and West Green School. Enter the building through the door with the sign Revive above it and turn left down the corridor.
