The Woolly Weekender 2027

What to expect? Basically a long weekend with other crafty folk, in a fabulous hotel at the seaside. Worried you won't know anyone? Well you'll have loads of new friends within a few minutes! There's no pressure, you bring your own projects and do as much or as little as you like. We have a dinner together on Sunday evening but you don't have to join in if you don't want to.
We have the Orangery (with its sea view) all to ourselves on Sunday but you don't have to stay in. There's a lovely walk down to the sea or into town. Bring your partner or don't bring your partner! Don't knit or crochet? Then bring a book or needlework or whatever! Some of us even brave a swim in the sea.
Where: The Carlton hotel, Eastcliff, Bournemouth. You might describe it as "faded grandeur" - we love it! There's a spa, gym, and indoor pool. Loads of space to hang out and relax, with a walk of about 20 minutes into town, it's only about five minutes down to the beach. The hotel has a great restaurant and bar. Don't drive? It's about a mile from the train station.
Costs: Standard double (or twin) £84.00 per room per night
Executive rooms £104.00 per room per night (no I don't know what an executive room - that's a question for Kelly!).
Sea view with a balcony £124.00 per room per night
All prices include a full hot/cold buffet breakfast and are based on two people sharing. Complimentary car parking is also included in your room price - that's worth £25 a day so definitely not to be sniffed at. You can either pay the full amount and have the room to yourself, or bunk up with a buddy and share the cost. You can add days before or afterwards if you want a longer stay.
Three course dinner Sunday night @ £30.00 per person. Dinner will be in the Orangery and we will have the room all to ourselves, so no-one will be on the other side of the restaurant this time. You don't have to have dinner with the gang but it's great food and a smashing evening, so why on earth not?
To book: Contact Kelly O'Shea direct at the Carlton, her number is 01202 544118 or you can e-mail her on [email protected] . She's ever so busy so might not respond straight away, keep trying though, it's worth it!
Any questions please just ask. Oh, don't forget to let me know when you've booked so you don't miss any further information about the weekend.
Victoria, c/o Pins & Needles (Devizes), 07903 584151, [email protected]
PS: Don't take too much notice of the timings on this post, you can arrive when you like, it's just that your room might not be ready, and leave when you want - you'll need to check out but we usually hang around the hotel for most of the day on Monday!
