This June, community voices take centre stage as Willows on the Wear brings The Wind in the Willows to life along the River Wear 🌊
Atlas Theatre Company CIC invites you to experience a unique reimagining of this beloved tale, shaped by the stories, creativity, and talent of Sunderland’s own community.
✨ Featuring original work created and performed by local people
🎨 Showcasing artists including Nicola Leonard, Andy J Fraser & University of Sunderland students
🎙️ With the voice of local legend & SAFC commentator Nick Barnes
Join Mole, Rat, Badger, and Toad as they set off on an adventure through the Wear, uncovering the heart and history of the river and its people.
Proceeds from ticket sales supports accessible creative opportunities across the North East
📍Monkwearmouth Academy, Sunderland
• Thurs 11 June 2026 – 7:30pm
• Fri 12 June 2026 – 7:30pm
Tickets:
• General Admission: £8.50
• 50% off for partner schools & families (codes will be sent out to families)
• Pay What You Feel and Donation options available
Pay It Forward - If you can't attend but would like to support, you can purchase a Pay it Forward ticket and your ticket will be gifted to a member of the local community!
