About this Event
Join us for the What Were You Wearing Exhibit; shedding light on survivors’ stories while raising critical funds for Aurora House, a program supporting survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence.
The Untold Collection is a fashion exhibition reimagined. A night where style becomes art, presence becomes power, and every guest becomes part of the story. This year’s theme, Art Gallery Couture, invites you to arrive in your most daring, expressive, and editorial look.
By attending, you are also supporting Aurora House, a transitional housing program that provides safety, stability, and critical supports for women and children rebuilding their lives after violence.
For generations, society has tried to explain sexual violence through fabric, hemlines, and outfits. But, clothing has never been the cause of assault — power, entitlement, and violence are.
The myth that “what someone wore” provokes assault is one of the most damaging forms of victim-blaming. It shifts responsibility away from those who choose to harm and places it onto those who were harmed. Research, lived experience, and survivor testimony all reveal the same truth:
Assault occurs in school uniforms, sweatpants, winter coats, pyjamas, work scrubs, and every outfit imaginable.
Clothing doesn’t create violence.
Clothing doesn’t invite it.
Clothing doesn’t consent.
This exhibit challenges the myth directly. By presenting everyday outfits worn during moments of trauma, we expose the truth: the clothes were never the story — the harm was.
There is no colour palette, no limits, no rules, only fashion as bold as the truth this event represents. Think avant-garde silhouettes, dramatic textures, sculptural pieces, runway-level glamour, and outfits that demand attention. Whether it’s couture, street-luxury, high editorial, or experimental fashion, this is your moment to make a statement.
Together, we’ll transform the gallery into a living runway, where every outfit contributes to the narrative and every guest becomes part of The Untold Collection, and part of a collective effort to support survivors through Aurora House.
Come dressed in the piece that defines you. Bring the look they’ll never forget. And stand with a community committed to truth, dignity, and change.
