SCANDINAVIA’S FINEST STILL PUTS THE URF! BACK IN SURF!
The dark sheep of the international surf rock scene are still going strong. Having released 8 albums over a span of 25 years, The Tremolo Beer Gut remains a force to be reckoned with on live stages across the world. In the last couple of years, they have trotted the globe delivering smoky, silhouetted rock 'n' roll shows from Hawai'i to Stockholm and from Buenos Aires to Seattle. This is a band with a serious live pedigree – both as TBG but also with easily more than 1000 shows under their belt combined.
During the last 2 years, the band accomplished 2 tours of the USA, 2 of South America (Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay), as well as headlining the world's most important surf festival in Livorno, Italy – and they are in the best playing form of their career. This is the time to secure this seminal band on your roster for 2025.
The band was formed in 1998 by Jesper “Yebo” Reginal (Junior Senior, Heavy Trash, THAU, etc.) and Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes) on the tour bus of their former band, the seminal Danish grunge trio Psyched Up Janis. They “invented” TBG specifically as a LIVE band. They drafted two more members in Jengo (Trains & Boats & Planes) and Per Sunding (Eggstone), and the quartet was complete. The Great Nalna (THAU, Tothe International, Heavy Trash) became the band’s live engineer, then record producer and – when Sune left to live in the USA – the lead guitarist of the band.
As mentioned, the band has toured extensively all over Europe, South America, Russia, and the USA, and built a strong and loyal fan base in and beyond the instrumental, surf, and garage rock crowds. That goes for intimate sweaty rock clubs as well as festivals. As far back as 2000, TBG opened the Orange Stage (main stage) of the Roskilde Festival and has subsequently played loads of other rock festivals such as SXSW, Iceland Airwaves, CMJ, Hultsfred, Gutter Island, Malmö Festival, etc. Specifically in the surf and instrumental community, the band has gained a strong profile and has played and headlined the largest surf gatherings around the globe – Surf Guitar 101 in Los Angeles, Surfer Joe in Livorno, Aloha Festival in Venlo, Primeiro Campeonato Mineiro de Surfe! in São Paulo, and Tiki Oasis in San Diego.
