The State of the Child - The Whole Brain Child
About this Event
This presentation is in connection with First 5 Mendocino's State of the Child training series. It will be an interactive & inspiring event for professionals in Mendocino County, held on Wednesday September 23, 2026 from 8:00am until 4:00pm at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center.
OBJECTIVES:
- Understand why working with a child’s whole brain is necessary.
- Learn the important tools for working with children to build healthy brain development.
- Learn to nurture healthy connections and process trauma through whole-brain strategies.
From pregnancy to age 5, the most important thing for optimal development is the power of positive relationships. We are a community of many connections and great resilience. This conference will be about how we work with kids and understanding the whole brain approach!
We're grateful for the Title IV-E grant funds, which help us provide this event. These funds are specifically allocated to providing training and support for professionals who work within Mendocino County organizations that work with foster youth and/or youth who are at-risk of entering the foster care system, which includes social workers, therapists, teachers, pediatricians, counselors, school administrators, etc. If you're unsure of your eligibility to attend, please contact our office: [email protected].
