A fun, experiential and introvert-friendly workshop to help you socialise with confidence, connect naturally and make new friends.
About this Event

.

.

You walk into an event.

People are already talking.

You’re wondering who to approach. Whether you can join that group. What to say after “Hi.” And if you do start talking to someone... how do you eventually leave without making it awkward?

Sound familiar?

Join this fun, experiential and introvert-friendly workshop to make connection feel easy, natural, and you.

You don’t need to become more extroverted. You don’t need to suddenly become the person who can walk into a room and charm everyone.

Sometimes, you just need to know what to do.

Why This Exists

A lot of us were never taught how to connect comfortably in groups.

We were taught to be careful.

To monitor ourselves.

To not be “too much.”

And when you’re an introvert, it can sometimes feel easier to hang back, wait for someone else to approach you, or stick with the one person you already know.

This workshop gives you something different:

Practice. Structure. Repetition.

Confidence isn’t a personality trait.

It’s a skill.

And like any skill, it becomes easier when you know how and get the chance to practise.

You’ll learn to:

✨ Start conversations naturally

✨ Carry a conversation effortlessly with anyone

✨ Join group chats without feeling like you’re crashing

✨ End conversations gracefully

✨ Work the room with quiet confidence

This isn’t a sit-down-and-listen workshop.

We’ll learn, try things out, practise with one another, laugh at the occasional awkward moment, and try again.

The idea is simple: by the end of the session, walking into a room full of people should feel a little less daunting and a lot more doable.

There will also be time to simply socialise and put what you’ve learnt into practice.

🌈 An Inclusive Workshop

The Social Upgrade is for everyone.

Whatever your gender identity and orientation, you are welcome here.

Come as you are, and extend the same respect to everyone else.

What Past Participants Said:

From Awkward to More at Ease

I came into the workshop feeling awkward about social events and unsure how to show up comfortably. What stood out was how approachable and practical the session was. It made social networking feel less intimidating and more doable, without forcing extroverted behaviour. I would genuinely recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to feel more confident and natural in social settings.

Realising Confidence Is a Learnable Skill

I used to worry a lot about social situations and whether I was doing things “right.” What shifted for me was understanding that social confidence is a skill, not a personality trait. The workshop broke things down clearly and made the process feel learnable rather than intimidating. I walked away feeling more equipped and less self-critical.

Initiative Without Pressure

Social events always felt intimidating to me, especially the idea of starting conversations. This workshop reframed that fear by showing that taking initiative does not have to be aggressive or awkward. The emphasis on being okay with small, imperfect interactions made a big difference. It felt practical, supportive, and very human.

Nicholas L.

Clarity Without the Drain

I enjoy meeting people, but social events can be exhausting even when they are exciting. This workshop helped me understand why that happens and how to manage it better. The ideas were clear, thoughtful, and immediately applicable. Instead of pushing constant interaction, the session focused on making connections in a way that feels sustainable and aligned with who you are.

Your Trainer

Hosted by Dean Shams, a communication trainer with over 20 years of experience in communications and adult learning, and a fellow introvert.

Dean has trained professionals and students across organisations and universities, helping people communicate and show up with greater confidence.

For this workshop, he brings that experience into something much more everyday:

How to walk into a room, connect with people, and actually enjoy doing it.

Come learn the skills, practise them in a friendly room, and leave with a few new friends too.
