The Series at Lavender Hill Farm Presents Horton Creek Bluegrass
Blending traditional and progressive bluegrass with touches of country and rock, Horton Creek Bluegrass delivers a sound that is both deeply rooted and full of energy. Their tight musicianship, easy chemistry, and genuine love of performing create a live experience that feels as welcoming as it is lively.
Set inside our beautifully restored 1920s barn, this concert is part of The Series at Lavender Hill Farm, an intimate summer music experience where nationally touring artists perform for Northern Michigan audiences in a one-of-a-kind farm setting.
Arrive early to picnic on the lawn, enjoy preshow music in the amphitheater, and spend the evening surrounded by music, community, and the beauty of the farm.
About the Artist: HORTON CREEK BLUEGRASS
Horton Creek Bluegrass formed in 2004 after they played, what they thought, was a onetime gig to fill a spot. That one show went so well, that they had to keep on going. Initially, they began by playing mostly traditional bluegrass and gospel music. As time went on, they began to expand their musical influences, to create a sound that incorporates traditional/progressive bluegrass, country western, a little bit of rock n’ roll, all while keeping the core around the root’s music.
As our sound transformed, and the chemistry between band members grew, the bookings for shows started rolling in. We have played concerts for sold out theaters, Bliss Fest, as well as being the opening act for major players in the industry, such as Trick Pony and Kellie Pickler. Their hopes are high, the bass is low, and of course, the grass is blue!
