About this Event

To many Harlaxton is defined by its mid-19th Century Manor House, but it's manorial history dates back almost a thousand years before Gregory Gregory built his extravagant mansion.

In 2024 Harlaxton History Society embarked on a quest to discover the manorial history of the village culminating in a month-long community archaeology project in 2025. In this talk Douglas Brown will tell the story of this totally volunteer led project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to find "The Lost Manors of Harlaxton" explaining both the approach and the initial findings
