The Sea Quill: A Night of Original Writing

Is The Moth in LA just too far? Can’t wait for a trip to New York for a book reading? Have a piece of writing that you'd like to share out loud, but don't know where to do so in South OC? We hear you!

Laguna Beach's new literary open mic is back!

Note: Last month, this event sold out quickly! The good news is we are adding more tickets, but please get your tickets soon so you are able to attend.

Please join us for an evening of original work: short stories, true or fiction, memoir, or book excerpts. Writers, readers, and listeners alike are all welcome to attend!

This month's event will be hosted by playwright and actress Heather Tyson (Title Pending) and feature storytelling by writers Rebecca Harris and Dani Fankhauser (Sister Earth).

At The Sea Quill, our intention is to create a community space to share new writing and stories. Please stick around after the show to meet your fellow storytellers and socialize!

We welcome you to bring something to share! Writers wishing to share their work can drop their names in the basket and will be selected by lottery 15 minutes before the event begins. Each writer will have 7 minutes to share.

Place: The Cove Coworking Space, 1105A N. Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach. CA

Time: 7:30-9 p.m. (doors open at 7)

Cut off to submit your name at the event to read/share: 7:15 pm

If you would like to share, please come prepared so you can share your work within the 7-minute window! This is an inclusive space for original storytelling. Please save your music, props, stand up, logos, and politics for a different venue.
