About this Event
Travel back to the decade that redefined a continent and birthed a nation. This presentation surveys the pivotal moments and escalating tensions that pushed thirteen disparate colonies toward a point of no return. We will trace the chronological milestones that transformed local protests into a unified revolutionary movement, culminating in the historic Second Continental Congress.
Presented by Library Program Coordinator Robert Voyles. With a background in American history and years of experience as a librarian, Robert will trace the narrative arc of the colonies as they moved from colonial grievances to a unified cry for liberty. Robert will guide us through the narrative arc of the colonies as they moved from specific grievances to a collective cry for liberty. Join us for a comprehensive look at the story behind our founding.
Light refreshments will be served, but unlike in 1773 Boston, the tea won't end up in the harbor.
This program is a hybrid presentation available for both in-person attendance and virtual viewing via Zoom.
This program is part of our America250 series, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
