One room, four hours, and a book that has no interest in behaving.

JOAN is a collection of poems by Dexter, a Marine, published by Dead Reckoning Collective. It comes out on September 25. We are not marking that with a folding chair and a microphone.

The whole downstairs becomes one room. A DJ runs the night and people dance. Live musicians play over the top of him. Performers work the crowd instead of a stage. Projections cover every surface. Two cocktails exist for this evening and no other. Dexter reads.

The title poem asks for a different saint. Not the one in the stained glass. The one the drinkers and the smokers and the fighters actually pray to.

Put your armor on.
