What is The Remixer?
The Remixer is Words Beats & Life’s signature happy hour — a low-key, high-energy mixer designed to bring people together over a shared love of hip hop culture. Think great music courtesy of DJ Xxxxx, drink specials, a photo booth, and genuine conversation with others who get it.
WBL has spent over two decades using hip hop as a tool for education, creativity, and community-building — through programs in DJing, emceeing, breaking, visual art, and youth mentorship across DC. The Remixer is your chance to meet the people behind that work, hear about upcoming programs and events (like Graffiti & Sip), and see firsthand how WBL turns culture into connection.
Whether you’re a longtime supporter or just discovering WBL for the first time, this is a night to relax, remix, and get plugged into the movement.
