Capitol Hill Luncheon: The Power and Peril of Food
About this Event
On Wednesday, July 29th, we invite you to join the Food is Medicine Institute at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University and Food Tank on Capitol Hill for a timely luncheon conversation on "The Power and Peril of Food," including the latest science on nutrition's relationship with mood, memory, metabolism, fertility, and longevity.
As emerging research continues to transform our understanding of nutrition, scientists are uncovering powerful connections between food and nearly every aspect of human health from fertility to healthy aging. At the same time, rising rates of chronic disease, nutrition insecurity, and diet-related illness underscore the urgent need for evidence-based solutions and informed policymaking. Speakers will discuss the importance of robust funding for nutrition science to continue advancing the research needed to inform understanding and policy actions.
This bipartisan gathering will feature top scientists, health practitioners, and policymakers. You are invited to join us for a delicious lunch and important conversations.
