About the Instructor

Jeff Quintana is an improviser, stand-up comedian, clown, director, producer, and educator with more than 20 years of experience helping performers create bold, authentic, audience-driven comedy. Drawing from training at The Annoyance Theatre and Home Comedy Theater in Chicago, as well as extensive work in stand-up, clown, and physical theater, Jeff developed The Circuit Method—a practical performance philosophy that blends improvisation, stand-up, clown, and theatrical storytelling into a cohesive system for creating confident, emotionally connected, and consistently funny performances.

As an instructor, Jeff has taught classes and coached performers at The Annoyance Theatre, Home Comedy Theater, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, iO Theater, comedy festivals, and multiple independent theaters and training programs throughout the United States.

As a performer, Jeff has appeared at venues including The Laugh Factory Chicago, Broadway Comedy Club (New York City), Miami Improv, Fort Lauderdale Improv, Tempe Improv, and Stand Up Live Tulsa, while producing and directing hundreds of improv and comedy shows over the course of his career.

Known for his energetic, supportive teaching style, Jeff helps performers trust their instincts, commit fearlessly, discover the game of the scene naturally, and build long-form shows that audiences genuinely connect with. Whether working with beginners or seasoned improvisers, his workshops provide practical tools that performers can immediately apply to rehearsals, performances, auditions, and beyond.

About Short Round

Since 2011, Short Round Improv has been producing fun weekly and monthly shows, classes, video content and advice and mentorship to working and aspiring actors, connecting aspiring actors with vital local resources and training!

Founded by group director and veteran local improv actor/director and national TV/Film/Improv actor and Stage performer Fawad Siddiqui with teaching from Short Round's original instructor, legendary local actor and tracher Gerald Owens of Laughing Gas Improv, Short Round has continued in the same tradition as Laughing Gas helping to entertain, educate, provide opportunities and introduce the art of acting for waves of attendees, students and cast members!

Currently Short Round conducts weekly Sunday evening Short Round Drop-In classes on the first three Sundays of the month ($20 per class) at the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes; as well as the weekly Miami Improv Jam from 8-9 PM ($10, or free to class attendees) where attendees can sign up, jump on stage and play with some the city's best improv talents! Wnd excellent guest workshops such as these from top local and national improv talent!

On the last Sunday of the month the class and jam are replaced by Mainstreet Madness: The Monthly Improv Comedy Show! Short Round's signature main stage improv extravaganza, featuring crazy costumed character pieces, sketches, musical guests, and more, each on a diffefent theme!
