Professor John Low, PhD, a member of the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi will share the story of the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi and their influences on northern Illinois. From ancient times to the present to the future, the Pokagon Potowatami people have always relied on the power of storytelling to sustain themselves and community.

Prior to the talk, there will be a buffet of indigenous food prepared by Chef Jessica Pamonicutt (Menominee) of Ketapanon Kitchen.

Visitors are also invited to see the National Public Housing Museum’s recently installed History Lesson exhibition of objects and stories from Osage Nation, the mural by Lydia Cheshewalla (Osage), and Andrea Carlson’s (Ojibwe) mural on the Invitation Wall.
