The "Pirates' Plunder" presentation is a hands on program focused around the goods that come up most often in descriptions of pirate encounters around the colonial Americas, roughly 1690-1730 - typically trade goods - including "Blackbeard's Treasure" (which isn't as impressive as many might think). It includes something of a guessing game based on the first letter of the trade items the presenter has in small, individual sacks. He also discusses why people became pirates and why they were sometimes welcomed in some ports in and around the British Colonies, weapons, and other information. This program is tailored for around ages 8 and up, BUT younger is welcome as long as they’re not disruptive. (I think our Wild Kindergarteners would enjoy hearing about this.) This is a super unique program for you guys!
After we finish up you can eat a picnic lunch and play in the creek. So remember snacks, lunch, drinks, picnic blanket.
FEE: $5 per person age 8 and up. Under 8 is free. Must preregister and prepay. Email [email protected] with number in your party.
