Join us for a special afternoon celebrating the completion of People of Ipswich.
For ten days, the gallery has been transformed into a living studio, growing day by day as 200 residents sat for their portraits. The Opening Event is the moment the full picture is revealed. For the first time, the entire mosaic of faces will be displayed together on the gallery walls - a powerful visual statement of who we are as a community.
This is an inclusive gathering suitable for all ages, designed to foster connection and civic pride. It is a chance to:
📍See the Full Mosaic: Witness the complete archive of 200 portraits displayed side-by-side.
📍Celebrate Together: Meet the artist, Amanda Waschevski, and mingle with the neighbours who make up this historic record.
📍Enjoy Local Treats: Sip on tea hosted by Zonta Ipswich (with proceeds supporting their local initiatives) and enjoy individually wrapped, stamped cookies provided by Baked by Brooke.
The event will be documented by local photographers Kathryn Handley and Naomi McKenzie, capturing the spirit of the day for the project archive.
