Welcome to our book club for contemporary poetry enthusiasts—and for anyone who has always wanted to explore poetry but doesn’t know where to begin. Forget Shakespeare and Shelley; we’re bringing poetry into the modern world with fresh, relevant, and diverse voices that reflect today’s experiences.
Each month, we’ll spotlight two poets, diving into their lives and works together. No need to read ahead or own the books—just come along to listen, share your thoughts, and enjoy some biscuits in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Got a favourite poet you’d like to introduce? Let us know, and we’ll add them to the mix!
The NOT Dead Poets Society will take place in the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library from 5.30 - 6.30 pm, on the last Tuesday of each month
This book club will be led by Chris from Spork! Poetry (big poetry fan, definitely not an expert) - for any questions, email [email protected]
