What do the objects we keep reveal about us?
The Need to Keep: Works by Amanda Kelly opens September 25 at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures.
Through meticulously constructed miniature scenes, artist Amanda Kelly explores memory, accumulation, identity, and the emotional significance of everyday objects. Her environments contain no human figures. Instead, accumulated possessions and signs of use suggest a recent presence.
From a coffin towing a U-Haul to a nostalgic pocket-sized toy, Kelly uses miniature scale to draw viewers into spaces often hidden from view. The exhibition invites us to slow down, look closer, and consider the stories carried by the objects around us.
