All classes meet on Sundays at Noon and 7 pm ET.
🔸 (November 10) Session 1: Broadway, Rap, and Broadway Rap 🎼🎤
We’ll start by examining how Hamilton masterfully blends musical styles. Learn how rap and hip-hop were integrated into Broadway’s traditional soundscape to create something entirely new. We’ll also analyze the intricacies of rhyme, rhythm, and wordplay that bring Alexander Hamilton’s story to life. Expect some exciting comparisons between classic show tunes and contemporary beats! 🎶
🔸 (November 17) Session 2: Act One 🏛️📝
Get ready to delve into the first act of Hamilton! We’ll break down key songs like “My Shot” and “The Schuyler Sisters,” exploring character development, musical motifs, and historical references. Discover how the music sets the stage for the rise of Alexander Hamilton and the tumultuous beginnings of the American Revolution. 🇺🇸
🔸 (November 24) Session 3: Act Two ⚖️💔
The drama intensifies in the second act, and so does the music! We’ll tackle the major themes of legacy, betrayal, and redemption through songs like “The Room Where It Happens” and “Burn.” Understand how the melodies and lyrics evolve to reflect Hamilton’s complex journey toward his tragic downfall.
