This conference invites you to look beyond textbooks and traditional career paths, and explore the many specialisations, roles, and voices that bring the law to life. By understanding how these fields intersect and influence one another, you’ll gain a clearer, more realistic picture of what a future in law can look like—and where you might fit within it.

“The Mosaic of Law: Diverse Voices, Shared Future” is designed to help you see law not as a single, rigid career track, but as a mosaic of opportunities for growth, collaboration, and impact. Through engaging discussions and shared experiences, FLS hopes to inspire you to reimagine your place in the legal sector, and to see how your voice can help shape its future.

During the conference, you will get the opportunity to meet distinguished lawyers in diverse fields (from IP to Shipping, Employment to In-house), learn from SMU professors, learn from law school seniors local and overseas, and network with a wide range of law firms and other partners.

Info: Panel discussion featuring practising lawyers in fields like technology law, sustainability, human rights, and international arbitration. The speakers will share insights into the changing legal landscape and offer advice on how future practitioners can adapt to the evolving practice of law.

Info: We invite current law school students or alumni from the three local law schools (NUS, SMU and SUSS), as well as overseas law schools, to share insights into what law school is like, including the significance of elective courses in enriching academic experiences and their extracurricular activities.

Info: Concluding the conference, this interactive networking segment offers participants the opportunity to connect directly with legal professionals, organisations, and student initiatives across diverse areas of law. The hall will feature multiple themed booths where attendees can engage in conversations, participate in facilitator-led challenges, and gain insights into various legal pathways. Each visit earns participants a mark on their event card, encouraging them to explore widely and engage meaningfully with our partners. This dynamic, hands-on format aims to foster genuine dialogue, professional connections, and a deeper appreciation of the law’s many intersections with society.

To foster inter-participant bonding, the networking session will also contain few gamified challenges and mechanisms.
