After 150 years, the legendary Moll Rooney Festival returns to Tallaght! Join us for a special, one-hour guided journey through a millennium of history. From the ancient roots of St. Maelruain’s monastery to the industrial landmarks that shaped our modern identity, to our literary giants, rediscover the stories of the place we proudly call home.
On this tour, you will discover:
- Ancient Beginnings: Explore the grounds of St Maelruain’s Church of Ireland, where once a former monastery existed, known as one of "the two eyes of Ireland."
- Industrial Legacies: Learn about the fascinating evolution of the former Tallaght Aerodrome, the legacy of Urney Chocolates, and the history of Jacobs.
- Local Icons: Hear the stories of incredible historical figures like Alice Furlong and William Howard Russell.
- A Living History: Deep archival research meets local expertise, celebrate the people, past and present, who made Tallaght.

- Language: In English, with the occasional cúpla focal used + one of Alice Furlong's poems in Irish (*English translation provided) is also shared.
- Price - Adult (18+) Ticket - €12.00 / Under (18+) Ticket - Free. Under (18+) must be accompained by an adult (18+) with a paid ticket. Both ticket types can be booked via Eventbrite.
