The Missing Connection: Hips + Pelvic Floor with Koleen Adams of Awaken Pelvic Therapy
Your hips and pelvic floor don’t work independently, and sometimes the place you’re feeling discomfort isn’t the place that needs the most attention.
Hip pain, sciatica, SI joint discomfort, pelvic pain, leakage, pressure, tightness and instability can all be influenced by the way your hips, glutes, core and pelvic floor work together.
In this approachable, educational workshop, Koleen will help you better understand these connections and, most importantly, what you can actually do with that information.
We’ll explore basic hip + pelvic floor anatomy, common compensation patterns, and the difference between mobility and stability, including why a muscle that feels “tight” doesn’t always need more stretching.
Then we’ll put it into practice with simple, accessible movements designed to support:
✨ Hip mobility
✨ Glute strength
✨ Core support
✨ Pelvic floor function
✨ Stability + better movement patterns
You’ll leave with a better understanding of why your body may be compensating the way it is, along with practical tools you can begin using to build strength, improve movement, and better support your hips + pelvic floor.
No previous yoga or movement experience is necessary. Come curious, wear comfortable clothes, and be ready to learn a little more about how your body works.
