📌 About this event:

The Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Jam is a collaborative weekend filmmaking event for 16+ adults where actors, writers, directors, filmmakers, producers, editors, DOPs, sound, crew, and creatives come together to create one short film (< 15 min.) over the course of 48 hours (29–31 May 2026). We begin with a theme or prompt, then work together to develop an idea, plan the production, and shoot and edit the film within the timeframe. Everyone contributes their skills, and the focus is on creativity, teamwork, and enjoying the filmmaking process. The shooting takes place within a 48-hour window, alongside the rest of the production process, keeping everything closely connected and collaborative.

Schedule:

29/5 Fri: Theme + ideation (5.30 PM/Work Cafe)

30/5 Sat: Shooting

31/5 Sun: Editing + submission deadline (5.30 PM)

Screening: TBA

...at the end of the 48 hours, the completed film is screened for everyone involved to watch and share. It’s a welcoming creative project designed for anyone interested in being part of a short film from start to finish. Local and non-local participants are welcome — just bring your ideas, equipment, and enthusiasm.

📌 When & Where ?

The Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Jam takes place from 29–31 May 2026, starting with a kick-off session on Friday 29 May at 5:30 PM, followed by filming on Saturday and editing with submission due by Sunday 31 May at 5:30 PM. The event begins at Unity Place Work Cafe (by the Tuk-tuk Cofee Van, 200 Grafton Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 1UP, where participants meet to receive the theme and begin ideation, with the screening location to be confirmed.

The Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Jam (“the Event”) is a voluntary, independent, and collaborative creative activity involving filmmakers, actors, crew, and other participants. Participation in the Event is entirely at the individual’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the organisers, coordinators, volunteers, venue providers, and any associated individuals or partners (“the Organisers”) shall not be held liable or responsible for any loss, damage, injury, illness, claim, cost, or expense of any kind arising out of or in connection with participation in the Event. This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, as well as loss of or damage to personal property, equipment, or digital materials. Participants acknowledge that the Event may involve activities such as filming in various locations, the use of equipment, movement between venues, and working in group settings, and that these activities carry inherent risks. Each participant accepts full responsibility for their own safety, actions, and conduct throughout the Event. Participants are solely responsible for their own equipment, belongings, and personal property at all times. The Organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to such items under any circumstances. Participants are also responsible for ensuring they are physically and mentally fit to take part in the Event and that they comply with all relevant laws, venue rules, and safety instructions provided during the Event. Any failure to comply may result in removal from the Event at the discretion of the Organisers. Where participants use their own equipment or equipment belonging to others, they do so at their own risk and agree that the Organisers shall not be liable for any malfunction, damage, or misuse of such equipment.
