Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Challenge: actors, writers, directors and crew get into their own teams to create, shoot and edit a film over a 48-hour weekend.

📌 About this event:

The Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Challenge is a collaborative weekend filmmaking event for 16+ adults where actors, writers, directors, filmmakers, producers, editors, DOPs, sound, crew, and creatives come together, form teams and then set off to create one short film each< 15 min.) over the course of 48 hours (22nd-24th May 2026).
We begin with a theme or prompt, which any registered team will get on the evening of Friday 22nd May where the challenge kicks off. There will be the chance to speak to one of the SAHQ team at Unity beforehand, and then all teams will be emailed with the instructions for submission, rules and the prompt for the film

Prompt to be sent to all teams , which will mean you can start on your films
Sunday 24th May : Submission deadline (4PM)
Screening: TBA

...at the end of the 48 hours, the completed films are screened for everyone involved to watch and share. It’s a welcoming creative project designed for anyone interested in being part of a short film from start to finish. Local and non-local participants are welcome — just bring your ideas, equipment, and enthusiasm.

📌 When & Where ?
The Milton Keynes 48 Hour Film Challenge takes place from 22nd -24th May 2026, starting with a kick-off session on Friday 22nd May at 4 PM, with submission due by Sunday 24th May at 4 PM. The event begins at Unity Place Work Cafe (by the Tuk-tuk Cofee Van, 200 Grafton Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 1UP, where participants meet to receive the theme and begin ideation, with the screening location to be confirmed.

Participation in the Event is entirely at the individual’s own risk. The Organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to such items under any circumstances.
