The Methods of 5 Rings

Truth be told, even though my first coaching course was in 2009, I have been training to be a strength coach since I was a kid. In fact, the naming of my gym 5 Rings Barbell was a nod to the fact that in the mornings and during lunch at school I would go to the school library and read anything I could find from the old marital arts masters and that was my first foray into strength training. This seminar will be me teaching you how I've blended almost everything I know into concepts that I can shape to fit any client I need to work with. I use both the most "advanced" systems with my general population clients, and wrench everything I can out of the basics with my high performance athletes. In addition to traveling the globe, incuding Russia and China twice each, I have also been host to some of the most prominent coaches and athletes across all strength sports. While that would be impressive enough, I have also trained and competed in most of the popular strength sports as well, so not only do I have the theoretical knowledge but have that very important first hand experience with these methods and their outcomes too. Even still, as a licensed massage therapist I have also been working and studying the body in respect to its biological and biomechanical parameters which adds an extra layer of depth to my understanding and application to coaching athletes. For many of my top performing athletes I also act as their soft tissue therapist. While I promise the thoughts and ideas I present here will be deeply thought provoking, please do not come expecting me to tell you how to do this job. I will not be sending you home with a coloring book and all you have to do is pick a color to complete the picture. Think of this more like a connect the dots picture but none of the dots are numbered. What you take away may be completely different than the person you sit next to. So be warned, this course is not for everyone. You need to be inquisitive and a thinker. Discussions during the course will be highly encouraged.
Schedule:

Friday - morning training from 830am-11am

break for food 11-1230

First lecture will be from 1230-5pm - you can stay and train that night too till 7pm
Friday group dinner at 8pm - Japanese steakhouse Hibachi

Saturday & Sunday - Lecture starts 8am-11am

Lunch / gym training - 11am -130pm (because this works better for everyones brain to keep functioning)

Lecture -130- 5pm - can stay and train from 5 to 7 afterwards
