The Mascot Reading Group with Kath Ashill

6 October 2026, 18:00 - 20:00

Join us on 6 October at Frân Wen / Nyth for an interdisciplinary reading group led by artist, drag king and researcher Kath Ashill.

Facilitated through the artists practice which uses theatricality to open up dialogues, the session will draw together a diverse compilation of texts and cultural references to critically explore themes of mascoting in a queer context.

During the session, we will read and share insights to generate a collective body of research that will inform the artist's work on the queer roots project.

The event is for ages 16+ as some of the content in the session explores mature themes. If you’re aged 16-17, you must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Alternatively you can provide written consent from a legal guardian before the event.
