Matriarch, a deeply reflective and embodied workshop exploring the Madonna as a living
symbol of care, protection, and sacred feminine power.

Rooted in Italian folk magic and
devotional traditions, this experience invites participants to reconnect with the Madonna not
only as a religious figure, but as a guide, protector, and archetype of the Divine Matriarch.
Through historical context, personal storytelling, meditation, creative practice, and ritual,
participants will explore how devotion to Mary has been carried through generations, often
through women’s practices of prayer, altar work, caregiving, and community support. The
workshop also introduces the significance of the Black Madonna, whose presence across
cultures reflects a deep connection to the earth, mystery, and the protection of marginalized
communities.
This workshop explores matriarchal wisdom as a set of values, namely, care, collaboration,
tending to the land, and honoring the body, and how these are still relevant today. Participants
will engage in somatic practices, create a personal Madonna devotional image or altar, and
participate in ritual using traditional prayers alongside intuitive, personal forms of devotion.
This workshop offers a compassionate and inclusive space for those drawn to the sacred
feminine, spiritual ancestry, or devotional practice, whether rooted in tradition or approached
in a personal, exploratory way.
Participants will leave with a deeper connection to the Madonna as a source of guidance and
protection, as well as practical ways to integrate devotional practice into daily life through
ritual, reflection, and embodied care.
No prior experience needed. Come as you are.
About Regina
Regina Filomeno, LCSW, is an integrative psychotherapist, energy worker, and Italian folk
magic practitioner whose work explores the intersections of spirituality, psychology,
embodiment, and ancestral tradition. Through her workshops and healing offerings, she
creates space for people to reconnect with ritual, intuition, the natural world, and the wisdom
carried through generations.
