About this Event
The Luddenden Shroud is a hand-felted woollen shroud along with a woven cradle crafted from foraged ivy, bramble, holly and willow made by artist Rachel Hawthorn for, and with, her friend Janet, as a soft, enfolding, earthy alternative to a traditional coffin.
This short film, produced by Geoff Brokate, tells the story of the making of the shroud, and documents the journeys Rachel and Janet have been on through the making process, reflecting on their experiences of loss, times of sorrow and hardship.
After the showing, Rachel will be available to take questions. The shroud and its cradle will be on show throughout the event.
