The Living Altar: An Embodied Art-Making Retreat in Nature
About this Event
The Living Altar: An Embodied Art-Making Retreat in Nature
Join us for an immersive and restorative mini-retreat where creativity meets the outdoors! Wander and wonder at our planet's textures, colors, and forms as we create living art altars using natural materials. This is your chance to reconnect with nature, express yourself authentically, and get inspired by the magic around you. No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm and love for the wild. Let's make something beautiful together!
We will responsibly forage fallen and abundant natural materials. Our ephemeral creations will honor the moment, the landscape, and our own inner experiences and life stages before we offer them back to the earth to disperse.
This experience will include group and individual altar-making, as well as reflective writing and large and small group activities.
Come prepared to spend time outdoors, move at a gentle pace, and discover what becomes possible when we slow down, work with our hands, and create in partnership with nature and community. Please bring a journal, writing utensil, your lunch, and weather-appropriate clothing. Foraging baskets/vessels, water and sun-tea, snacks and supplemental natural materials (flowers, seeds, etc) will be provided.
