About this Event

Jim Vance Media Program Presents

The Legacy Continues: Hear Us Roar! Honoring the Class of 2026

Archbishop Carroll High School’s Jim Vance Media Program (JVMP) will celebrate its 5th Annual Video Showcase and Awards themed: The Legacy Continues: Hear Us Roar! The scholarship fundraiser perpetuates the legacy of Jim Vance, NBC-News 4 anchor, by exhibiting the work of Vance Scholar students on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be from 5:30 -6:30 pm, and the show is 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

All tickets are $50.00 for the event showcase in the school’s McMahon Theater.

From freshman to senior level, students write articles for print, conduct interviews, produce PSAs, news features, and documentaries, as well as their creative works that will be selected for awards and prizes. This event will prove to be much like the “Emmy Awards” for JVMP and JVMP Club students to provide incentives for submitting their BEST work when completing assignments, and reward them by showcasing their efforts for family, friends, and the community. Also, to honor the graduating seniors, Class of 2026.

Vance Scholars submit work that addresses the various categories for each grade level, and they are judged by a student panel and a teacher outside of JVMP. All entries in each category will be announced during the ceremony and receive certificates. The top five (5) nominees in each category will be spotlighted, and the first-place winners will receive the Legacy Award. Additionally, the Class of 2026 will share video reflections of the journey to complete the four-year program and what it means to be the fifth graduating class.

All ticket sales and monetary donations will go towards the awards, monetary gifts, and scholarship/stipend opportunities for Vance Scholars. Our desire to continue Jim Vance's legacy with this event annually can only be achieved with your assistance. We continue to develop, grow, and pass the torch to future generations of students.
