After a super sold-out series of THE LAST DIVE events in San Diego and Encinitas, this super event experience is coming to Oregon.
On September 23, nearly 600 people will gather at Cinema 21 in Portland for a screening event built around awe, inspiration, healing, and the extraordinary power of friendship.
🎶 Live music with Caleb Paul
🎥 A cinematic screening of THE LAST DIVE
😌 A guided healing experience led by Jenn Samsom of Mindful Therapy PNW
👥 A post-film conversation moderated by OPB’s Allison Frost - with film director Cody Sheehy, animal communicator Michelle Hawk, and myself bringing the voice of ocean research and conservation!
Join me on September 23 · 7PM · Cinema 21 · Portland
Doors open at 6:15 for Live Music
Come be part of an evening that asks what can happen when we allow connection -- to another being, to the natural world, and to ourselves -- to change us.J
The award-winning documentary comes from Sheehy and writer-producer Mark Monroe of the Oscar-winning films The Cove and Icarus and the box office hit Fantastic Fungi.
Terry Kennedy's life was transformed by a friendship with Willy, a 22-foot manta ray who'd slap his wings against Kennedy's sailboat to signal their next dive. Now in his 80s, Kennedy journeys to a remote island in search of Willy and the chance to say goodbye.
More than a film, the evening includes a special audience healing experience, the premiere screening, and a post-screening panel with director Cody Sheehy and special expert guests.
Presented by Portland-based distributor Area 23a with Random Good and Rhumbline Media.
