The Judy Lopez Memorial Award 40th Anniversary Brunch

We are marking the 40th anniversary of the Judy Lopez Memorial Award established in 1986. We can't wait to celebrate 40 years of children's books with you!

.In-Person Brunch – Sunday, March 1, 2026

-1:00–3:00 PM PT. Jamaica Bay Inn, Marina del Rey, CA. A scrumptious buffet brunch with fabulous food in beautiful Marina Del Rey celebrating with past award recipients, educators, librarians, WNBA members, readers, and the broader book-loving community. A chance to win a literary gift basket. All book lovers are welcome!

• WNBA Members – $50
• Early Bird Pricing - $55
• Educators/Librarians -$50
• General Public – $60

Add-Ons:

• Brunch With an Author – $150. Reserve a seat at a table hosted by a medal-winning author — limited availability.
• 40th Anniversary Giving Circle – $100+ includes: 1 ticket to the 40th Anniversary Brunch, A WNBA tote bag or mug, 2 books of your choice from a curated list of past medal winners, and acknowlegement in our printed program, website's 40th anniversary page, or our 2026 Virtual Award.
• Support an Author’s Seat – $15 / $30 / $60. Help offset the cost of attendance for honored authors.
• In Honor of Judy. An open donation option to honor Judy Lopez’s legacy and help support future celebrations and programs.
