The Iron Duke Festival

This September marks the 10th anniversary of the return of the Iron Duke, the iconic rubber calender machine that symbolises Bradford on Avon’s proud industrial heritage.
The Hall Estate and its original owner, Stephen Moulton, were at the heart of this remarkable story. From The Hall Estate, Moulton built a business that transformed Bradford on Avon into a world-renowned centre for rubber manufacturing, creating a legacy that continues to shape the town today.
To celebrate this milestone, The Hall Estate is delighted to host a community picnic on Friday, 18 September.
🥪 Bring your own picnic and enjoy an afternoon of music, entertainment and community, including:
🎶 Live performances from the Wiltshire Wailers, Akabella and Sassparella
🎺 Traditional music from the Bath City Jubilee Waits
💃 Morris dancing by Holt Morris Dancers and Bell's Angels
🛍️ Artisan stalls from Made in Bradford on Avon
🍰 Delicious food from Boo's Bakehouse
🍺 A bar hosted by Kettlesmith Brewery, launching a brand-new Iron Duke Beer especially for the occasion!
Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover more about The Hall Estate’s fascinating history through guided tours of the Jacobean house, exploring the home of the Moulton family and the story of the people who helped shape Bradford on Avon’s industrial legacy.
