A fantastic evening’s entertainment is anticipated as the top bike racers in the country return to Ilkley town centre to contest Round 2 of the National Circuit Race Series. There is a great atmosphere at this free family event, with the first race starting at 5.30pm and a packed schedule ensuring interest throughout the evening. The fastest riders lap the course in just over 2 minutes, ensuring you’ll see plenty of action. If you’ve been before, you’ll remember the way the riders battle up Ridings Road, encouraged by the vocal support of the crowd. If you haven’t been before, you really need to witness a 100-rider peloton going along The Grove at 40 mph, and you’ll be amazed by the spectacle and blast of air as they pass.Since our inaugural edition of the Ilkley Cycle Races 10 years ago, we have seen the race grow in to what it is today, with its amazing atmosphere and high standards of competition. It is wonderful to see businesses & residents giving their support and embracing what has become an important part of the community’s social calendar. It’s this commitment, both from the community and business, that has helped Ilkley to continue to thrive and grow over the years.
