The Holy is Here Series - A New Name, an Ancient Truth: Remembering Who We Are

As Christmas approaches, we often think about new beginnings, fresh possibilities, and the promise of transformation. But what if the deepest spiritual transformation isn't about becoming someone entirely new? What if it is about remembering who we have always been? Unity Church of Castro Valley invites the community on Sunday, December 20, 2026, to experience “A New Name, an Ancient Truth: Remembering Who We Are,” part of its Holy Days series, The Holy Is Here. Drawing upon the biblical imagery of the White Stone in Revelation 2:17 and Unity's teachings about our divine identity, this message explores the possibility that the peace, love, wisdom, and wholeness we seek are already present within us, waiting to be recognized and lived.
The service will include Unity's meaningful White Stone Ceremony, an opportunity for personal reflection, meditation, and inward listening. Each participant will receive a white stone and be invited to discover a word, name, or spiritual quality that speaks to the life unfolding within them. That word becomes a personal reminder of an ancient truth: our essential spiritual nature is not defined by our past experiences, limitations, or circumstances. Following the service, the congregation will gather for a Christmas Party Potluck, celebrating the joy of friendship, community, and the gifts we share. All are welcome to join this sacred and joyful opportunity to remember, reconnect, and celebrate the Presence that has never been absent.
