The Holy is Here Series - The Light Within: Twelve Gifts Already Ours

What if the spiritual gifts we have been searching for are already within us, simply waiting to be recognized and expressed? On Sunday, December 6, 2026, Unity Church of Castro Valley continues its Holy Days series, The Holy Is Here, with “The Light Within: Twelve Gifts Already Ours.” Inspired by Charles Fillmore's teachings on Unity's Twelve Powers, this message explores the spiritual faculties of Faith, Strength, Wisdom, Love, Power, Imagination, Understanding, Will, Order, Zeal, Release, and Life. These are not extraordinary abilities reserved for a chosen few, but divine capacities available within each of us. During this season of sacred light, we will explore how awakening these qualities can transform our thoughts, choices, relationships, and everyday experiences.
The service will feature the traditional Unity Twelve Powers Candlelighting Ceremony, with congregational participation as twelve candles, each representing a spiritual faculty and its symbolic color, are illuminated. As the candles are lit, we are invited to recognize these same qualities within ourselves and consider how we might express them more fully in our lives. The ceremony offers a beautiful reminder that the Christ Light is not something distant that we must struggle to obtain; it is a Presence already available to guide, strengthen, and inspire us. Join us for this meaningful celebration of light, spiritual possibility, and the gifts waiting to shine through each of us.
