Explore unexpected key regulators of immunity with Professor Menna Clatworthy, Professor David Thomas, and Professor Eoin McKinney.
About this Event

Join Professor Menna Clatworthy, Professor David Thomas and Professor Eoin McKinney from the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease (CITIID) to uncover three factors that regulate your immune system – ones that you might not realise play a key role.

First, explore how the nervous system influences immunity through stress responses that can either strengthen or suppress defences. Next, delve into cellular metabolism via the thyroid gland, which governs energy processes that are essential for immune cell performance. Finally, examine the impact of ageing on immune efficiency, and how it increases our susceptibility to illness over time.

Suitable for a general audience and followed by a panel discussion with the speakers, this session will reveal hidden regulators of health.
