Learn about the Koryu School which dates back to the mid 18th century. Rie, who is a First Degree Professor, regularly teaches and exhibits in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. She will demonstrate the five Seika styles and will speak about the fundamental structure of each which will include both woody and leafy materials. "Komi" are the Seika holding materials which Rie will explain showing how to use them instead of a kenzan. Following the program, Rie will conduct a workshop and participants will each make a Seika style arrangement. For students of all levels. $40 members; $45 non-members.
