The Hillside Gathering: The Montenotte x Restaurant Chestnut
About this Event
This autumn, The Montenotte welcomes Restaurant Chestnut to Cork City for a one-night-only culinary collaboration, bringing together two of Ireland’s most accomplished chefs for an intimate evening of exceptional food and wine.
The Montenotte’s Executive Chef Martin Lovell will be joined by Rob Krawczyk of Restaurant Chestnut for an exclusive four-hand dinner celebrating the very best of Ireland’s autumn larder.
With Restaurant Chestnut set to close its doors at the end of October, this special evening offers a rare opportunity to experience Rob’s acclaimed, ingredient-led cooking alongside Martin’s refined contemporary style.
With just 40 seats available, this will be a truly intimate dining experience created for one night only.
The Evening
The evening begins in The Glasshouse rooftop bar, where guests will enjoy a welcome cocktail against the backdrop of sweeping views across Cork City.
From there, guests will move to The Gallery Suite for a specially created tasting menu by Martin and Rob. Each chef will bring their own culinary perspective to the table, with dishes inspired by seasonality, provenance and the exceptional produce available across Ireland at this time of year.
Carefully selected wine pairings will accompany the menu throughout the evening, completing the experience.
Two Chefs, Two Culinary Perspectives
Rob Krawczyk’s cooking is rooted in the landscapes, producers and ingredients of West Cork. At Restaurant Chestnut in Ballydehob, which he runs alongside his wife Elaine, he has built a reputation for thoughtful, ingredient-led menus with seasonality and a strong sense of place at their heart.
Martin Lovell brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to The Montenotte, having worked in Michelin-starred kitchens in New York and some of Ireland’s leading hotels and restaurants. His cooking combines classical technique with a contemporary approach to outstanding Irish produce.
For one evening, their two distinctive styles come together in a collaborative menu created exclusively for this event.
